Identify the source and the required result
A passport data-page copy is an image of the document page containing the holder’s details; it is different from a separate portrait photo used in a passport application. Choose the page you actually need, rather than converting a whole scan of covers and other pages.
If your original PDF already contains the correct single page and you only need to print it, you may print that PDF directly. Convert when you need an image format, an extracted page or a different paper layout.
| Starting file | Goal | Tool |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-page scanned PDF | One PNG/JPG of the data page | PDF tool → separate page images |
| Already cropped JPG/PNG | A4 or Letter print copy | ID & Passport Print → Passport data page |
| A correct single-page PDF | Print the existing page | Your PDF viewer |
Export the page, then create the print layout if needed
PDF page numbers start at the first physical page in the file. A cover can shift the number; verify the thumbnail. If you already have a cropped image, begin with the passport-print layout.
- Open the scanned PDF in the PDF tool and select only the data page.
- Choose separate page images. Use PNG for text detail or JPG if that format is required, then set a suitable resolution such as 300 DPI.
- Download the single page image and check all edges, small text and the bottom machine-readable area. Do not trim necessary content.
- For a paper copy, open the Passport data page layout and add that image. Choose A4 or Letter and adjust the content width; 125 mm is a layout preset, not proof of the original passport’s dimensions.
- Download the one-page PDF and print at Actual size / 100%, or choose PNG/JPG to keep the paper layout as an image.
Choose quality from the source, not just a DPI number
Rendering a vector PDF at a higher resolution can produce more useful pixels. A scanned page or photo is already rasterized: exporting it at 300 DPI cannot recreate characters that were blurred in the source.
Avoid repeated JPG saves and heavy compression around small text. PNG is lossless; JPG can be smaller, but check the final downloaded file. There is no one file-size limit that applies to all receiving services. Use the destination’s actual instructions for format, pixels and maximum size.
Preserve print dimensions with the PDF output
The tool fits one selected image on one A4 or Letter page, preserving its proportions. A width of 0 automatically fits the available area; a specified width is kept unless it cannot fit, in which case the tool asks for an adjustment.
The PDF carries physical paper dimensions. Adobe’s Actual size setting prints without scaling, while Fit can change the size. PNG and JPG have the same visual arrangement but another printing app may scale them differently.
Keep document handling local
The tools do not upload the document contents. Basic extraction from one PDF and image-based passport printing are free. Manual cropping inside the PDF workspace is a separate Pro feature; it is not necessary for selecting and exporting an entire page.
The print tool does not save a project automatically. Download the result to a location you control. It does not verify the passport or guarantee acceptance by a particular organization.
Questions and answers
Is a passport page copy the same as a passport photo?
No. A page copy reproduces the document page; a passport photo is a separate portrait. This tool arranges document copies, not application portrait photos.
Will every page of my scan be exported?
Only the pages you select are exported. Select one page and use separate page images to download that page directly.
Does the 125 mm preset guarantee original size?
No. It is the chosen content width, applied to the complete image. Crop away the background and adjust the width to match your original if needed.
